The Mexican Martini is an Austin original. Basically, you take a martini and substitute the gin or vodka for tequila. Many restaurants in Austin serve the beverage, and each do it with their own twist. The secret is to use fresh juice (instead of a mix or sweet and sour) along with good tequila, olives, and a splash of olive juice. A few of the places that offer the Mexican Martini are the Cedar Door, Takoba, Trudy's, Z’Tejas, Azul Tequila, and 219 West.
